"That's very kind," Astafy said quietly, glancing back slightly with her peripheral vision. "He's just..." She shook her head to try and clear it. "I think he doesn't really like me because I'm a Healer. I just have to try to heal him, even though I don't have a mental specialty." She sighed, for the moment not quite thinking of how the little one responded even though she saw him as a baby.
"I can't -not- care for those around me," she said a little thoughtfully. "Even though I'm still not used to the other creatures around here."

He nuzzled her neck again and let out a small contented chirp at her first comments, looking up and listening again as she continued. idly rubbing against her soft fur in a reassuring manner till she finished. "Maybe some day he'll realize you're trying to help him!" He said optimistically, chirping a few times to reinforce his statement.
He looked around to try and spot the creatures she was talking about, but only saw one of the fishy things in the water. well, he wasn't used to those either, the one he tried to keep as a pet just ended up swimming away.... Then he realized he was probably one of the creatures she wasn't used to. "That's because your nice... And eventually you'll get used to umm... thingies?" he offered lightly.

"Thingies?" she replied with a soft chuckle. "Well, I guess that's one word for them." She thought about it for another long moment before giving another gentle laugh. "Do you consider yourself a 'thingie'? Mayhaps that's not the best word...?"
Long, purple and white legs continued their easy strides, bringing them closer to something, whether or not they knew wot.

He looked up at her questioningly for a moment before shrugging, it was only obvious because she could feel the movement against her neck. looking around then down at her legs he thought about it. "Erm, well... I'm a Tsume... and... I dunno." he finally admitted with a quizzical tone. then giggled a little bit. "That's a thingy!" He said then pointed to an odd looking fish in the river, that quickly darted away upon being spotted.
Napoleon, being the observant tsume that he was would most likely be the last to know if they were approaching something, even if someone gave him a very large lead and binoculars.

Astafy turned to look, catching only a hint of the creature as it slipped out of sight. She gave a small laugh and flicked her ears up. "I would say... we're creatures. Or beings... Or... well, ourselves, I guess." She gave her own little shrug, resulting in a slight hop to accommodate the motion as she continued on her easy trot.
She flicked her tail lightly, enjoying the company and breeze and wondering if perhaps it might be better for everyone if they didn't find Veselin. But that wasn't the best thought, so she pushed it back away again.

He giggled at the small hop, getting jolted a little bit but finding the little movement fun. nodding enthusiastically to her when she explained what she thought they would be. "I like the ourselves one best. Cause I'm definitely not someone else." he explained happily, then paused and giggled again as he thought about how silly that sounded.
He couldn't really help but start to wonder if she was going to leave him somewhere like everyone else did, she wasn't from around here and after she found her friend she was probably going to go home... He didn't let any of these thoughts show though, and continued to do a mix of look around, and nuzzle her at random.

Veselin stumbled slightly over a tree root; a spell of dizziness had began the action and it swept over him strong enough to complete it. The noctyier collapsed to the ground a few feet from a nearby river.
At least, he thought as his head swam at the same speed of the world, he hadn't fallen into the river. He wasn't very good at swimming anymore. Though he could float. His thoughts were doing much the same, unable to focus on much of anything. Today wasn't a good day for roaming, he decided.

Astafy gave a small sigh as they continued their journey along side the flowing water. They had been at this for hours and she was beginning to get hungry herself. "Well," she murmured quiety as she thought before eyeing the river thoughtfully. "Napoleon, do you like fish?"
All they needed to find was a good, quiet spot with lots of fish to catch. She didn't doubt that there was one somewhere along the riverside. She'd always enjoyed fishing.

By the time he heard the murmur from the light gryvern, he had nearly dozed off yet again... but woke up again as she spoke, looking up tiredly, a very small squeaky yawn coming from him before he perked up and chirped in agreement. "I like fish! Especially eatable ones." He said with a small nod. Wow, she was going to feed him twice? In one day? That was almost unheard of! she was quickly working her way up from favourite alien to just favourite person in general.
Remembering that she was an alien he looked over at the river and let out a few chirps. "The umm... colourful fishes are poisonous." he said while pointing to a somewhat odd shaped fish in the river.

Astafy glanced over and nodded as she took note of the fish, "That's good to know! Thank you for telling me, Napoleon. That would have been a nasty surprise! Do you know which ones are safe for consumption?" Perhaps this would be less of searching for a group of fish and more searching for fish that wouldn't make them ill.
She kept moving, letting him help her search the water for something suitable. For that reason, she wasn't paying quite as much attention to where she was stepping. In the falling light, the still form lying by the river didn't appear much more than a log. That's why when it started beneath her just as they were leaping over, Astafy was a great deal more surprised than she cared to admit and her legs got tangled up and they all went crashing down in a heap.
The Light desperately threw her weight to one side to make sure that Napoleon in her scarf would end up at the very top of the stack. "Is everyone alright?!" she asked and all of her worry and concern were evident in the question.

Napoleon shifted around in the scarf so he could lean further out to look at the river, trying to spot fish that they could eat... There actually weren't that many poisonous ones out there, but the ones that were edible often were hard to spot. "Yes! the umm brown ones are good. jusht no eating the ones shaped funny." He was about to jump up to point out a edible fish when there was a sudden movement of the ground beneath them...
He shrieked loudly when they started to fall, clinging tightly to astafy's neck during the crash. his eyes shut tightly as he simply clung to her neck with his little wings and feet, shaking slightly as they lay there. "I'm... ok."

Astafy breathed a deep sigh of relief when Napoleon answered her question; the little one was safe. That was of the utmost importance right now. She carefully righted herself, taking further care to keep from jostling Napoleon then stepped away from wotever or whoever tripped them so she could lean down and let the little tsume out of her scarf for awhile. Only then did she turn her attention to the 'log'.
It lay still and unmoving and she had a frisson of fear that the fall had killed.... Veselin! It was Veselin. Wot in the world? "Veselin... are you alright?"
The noctyier rolled his eyes blearily towards the Light. Move away from the light, came the ironic thought through his mind. "I think you broke my leg." Actually... he wasn't joking, though for a long moment it was evident the Healer thought he was. He didn't dare look down at it, but he had heard and felt something snap when the female had fell on him. His left foreleg was no longer quite... straight, though, again, he was carefully not looking at it.

He slipped from the scarf and hopped a little ways away when he saw what it was that they fell on, his eyes were immediately drawn to the oddly disjointed leg... a few small displeased trilling noises rolled out from him as he sat there staying wide eyed. He had that happen to his leg once, it wasn't fun at all... When Astafy recognized who it was he gave a slightly more interested squeak and ran over.
The gryvern he saw was actually pretty close to what he expected, but the reality was always worse than his imagination... This skinny and emaciated thing wasn't nearly as pretty as he thought it'd be. "Sorry we tripped over you..." he mumbled out apologetically to the rather still gryvern

Veselin's golden eyes slipped down to the tiny tsume and he had the brief disjointed thought of wonder, How does that thing stay upright? But then he shifted and a thrill of pain shot all further thought from his mind. "No, really, Astafy. You broke my leg."
The Light looked down then and gave her own Eep! of dismay. "Gads, Veselin, I'm so sorry!!! Here, hold still!"
"I wasn't planning on moving," he retorted sharply.
"This is going to hurt," the Healer answered distractedly as she looked over the injury.
"It already does." Despite the pain, Veselin was high on sarcasm. Astafy sat back on her haunches so she could carefully put her paws on his leg then popped the bones back into place. The Trance gave a cry of pain as the Light swiftly focused her energies on healing the injury, gem glowing through her forelock. After a few moments she stepped back with a nod.
"You'll need to take it easy for a week or so," she began then looked over the overly thin frame. "And eat properly," her voice went hard. "You'll need the energy to not end up with a limp. Understand?"
"Yes, mother," Veselin retorted, making no move to rise.
Astafy harrumphed at his disrespect and turned to face the river, tail twitching in agitation as she determined to go fishing for the three of them.

Napoleon looked up at Veselin wide eyed for a moment, he wanted to go over and comfort the skinny gryvern but was too afraid to go near the larger creatures head to do anything of the sort. So instead he made a few soft cooing noises, "Sorry Vaseline..." he said then gave a small lick to the large creatures leg and ran off next to Astafy, hiding with her slightly.
He nuzzled Astafy's leg and let out a small chirp before crawling forward and lying down on the edge of the bank, looking into the water and helping her to spot fish in there. It was hard to see them at his angle, but oh well.
