Milovan gave her a noncommittal noise; he didn't really know -how- to answer that, actually. Finally, though, he said, "Why would I want to?" Which was probably the best question right then anyway. He put out a hand to stroke her muzzle when she nuzzled him, the action unconscious.

She scrunched up her nose after he stroked her muzzle, then looked up ahead again... she could actually see the cave already, this was going to be awesome! Wait, he had said something hadn't he? "I dunno, better than just standing around?" she said in a manner that told him she had already found something else to occupy her attention.
It wasn't very long at all until she was she was crawling up a boulder, stopping at the top of it to lean down and offer some help to Milovan. "The cave's right over here!" there was a slight echo after she spoke, and a little cool air blew over them from out of the cave.

Milovan's ears flicked as he caught the signs of the nearby cave then he worked carefully with Rei's efforts to get atop the boulder. It didn't feel too high, but he had long since learned he had a touch of acrophobia; likely a sideeffect of not being able to see.
"Are you certain you wouldn't rather do something else?" he queried lightly. "Like jump off a cliff or something?" He couldn't help the sarcasm though it was almost completely good-natured.

Rei stuck her tongue out at him as he asked whether she would rather do something else, not that he could even see her little gesture... But then she grinned really widely and nudged him a little before looking ahead. "Good idea! You first!" she said with more enthusiasm than one should at the prospect of jumping off a cliff... Immediatly proceeding to push him off the other side of the boulder...It was a bit further drop then one might expect, but the ground was soft as if something had churned through it recently...
She snerked then laughed loudly before jumping down next to him and sniffing about the entrance of the cave, still trying (and failing) to fight off giggles.

Milovan gave a wordless cry as he fell off the boulder, unable to orient himself well enough to get his feet back under him. Because of this, he hit on his right shoulder and side. He gave a deep 'oomph!' as he landed and directed a dirty look up to the top of the boulder until he heard the soft thump of her landing beside him. Then he carefully directed the dirty look towards her.

Rei patted him on the head, letting out just one or two more giggles before helping him up again, brushing the dirt off of his shoulder and sides as well. "Hehehe sorry, couldn't help myself!" She said in a manner indicating that she probably wasn't that sorry about it, especially since she burst into giggles again before hopping up ahead to scout out the first stretch of the cave.
...It was a lot bigger inside than she had expected, and there were a number of passages, several of which seemed to drop downwards rather abruptly... She'd have to be careful in this place. err, well and Milovan would too, especially so.

Milovan grumbled under his breath as she laughed at him further. His tail twitched as he accepted her actions of cleaning him back off. She was, to his eyes, obligated to do at least this. His hide shuddered beneath the brushings and touches; an involuntary reaction he couldn't help. One of his hands would reach out to stroke lightly down her arm or flank or wotever came in range through out her cleaning.
His head followed her movements away, but he was going to delay going into those blasted caves as long as possible. One ear rose to follow the sounds of her passing.

Rei ran around in the cave a bit, letting her eyes getting accustomed to the dark as well as trying to find the easiest path for her and milovan. She finally decided on a not so steep one that had a number of step like ridges. She tossed a rock down the corridor and listened to the bounces and such until it stopped... It was pretty far down there, but she didn't hear any drop offs. so she ran back up to Milovan.
After picking up the leash again, giving it a light tug as she turned back towards the cave. "Ok, lets go! stick close to me, and watch out for loose rocks." she said with a nod and began to lead him in. the cave floor was pretty cold, dirt mixed with rocks near the entrance but gradually became more rocky as they went in.

"I can't watch out for anything," he pointed out under his breath, feeling the incumbent coolness of the cave as soon as they passed into it. He shivered slightly, and his hands and feet splayed instinctively as the dirt slowly dissipated in lieu of more rock.
The darkness inside the cave made it worse; at least outdoors he could sort of make out some shapes. In here he was completely blind and he tensed up further trying to make out wot was ahead despite Rei's tugging on the leash.

"Don't worry! I can't see anything either!" She pointed out happily, as if that would make things better. Since now it just meant it was the blind and dumb leading the blind. Well, maybe dumb was a bit too harsh... Overenthusiastic and oblivious was more accurate a term.
Regardless of all that she happily hummed and padded along through the cave, feeling around before her as well as kicking some of the sharper rocks off to the side to clear it for Milovan. There had to be monsters around here somewhere, this place was just PERFECT for them! There was already a scene building up in her head...
Of course it involved Milovan ending up as the damsel in distress, and her coming to his daring rescue. The only thing she couldn't decide was whether it was going to be some vile creature of darkness, or an indomitable rock monster.

Milovan's ears flattened and he physically winced at her words. Oh, no. He was now exceedingly worried and there was flat diddly he could do about it. He tripped over a rock, aware that she was kicking some to the side but not entirely certain why she was doing so. It didn't actually occur to him that she'd be trying to be of assistance.
Her humming made it easy for him to follow her, but it helped to make him more uneasy as well; if anything truly was living in these caves, it wouldn't have any trouble locating and running the pair of them down.
"Perhaps. . ." he ventured quietly. "We should be silent so we can avoid anything unpleasant in here."

Rei was oblivious to the fact that both of them being blind was a bad thing, or perhaps she knew it but chose to accept that fact in light of the possibility of finding some horrible monster to face off with (and win). Hmm... There was something up ahead... She thought she caught a glint off of some water maybe.
"Don't worry, I see a couple.. lights... up..." Eyes. Those were eyes. She stopped humming and took a step backwards to move beside her rather reluctant companion. Conspiratorially she leaned in close to his ear and whispered 'Careful, there's something up ahead'
This 'something' made its presence rather loudly known as it dragged what sounded like metal claws scraping through stone. followed by a small hiss, then a snort and some evil sounding murmurs.

Lights? "You see--" his question was cut off when she suddenly stepped back to him and leaned in. Her whisper only made him freeze up further. Milovan was definitely not the brave adventurous sort, and as his worst fears abruptly seemed to come true, his mind did the same. His tail curled to one side, seeking to slip at least partially around Rei's body as though seeking comfort through pure tactile contact.
His ears shot up at the sound beyond them, and his head weaved very slightly as his nostrils flared and he tried to ascertain just what might be here in the darkness with them. One hand slid to Rei's side, making its way cautiously up to one of her shoulder spikes before giving the gentlest of tugs backwards. They should escape! Now! Before it was too late!

Rei was not afraid in the least when she heard the sound of those claws, if anything she imagined whatever horrible weapons of destruction the creature had would just increase the amount of fame and glory she received for beating it! She was momentarily distracted from her thoughts when she felt his tail curl about a hind foot though, she nosed him and then brushed it back off with her own. The tug had a similar, lack of an effect. "Shh, wait here I'll be back."
She could smell a odd metallic scent, as he could likely as well. There was nothing else, other than the cave obvious though... Which was odd. One would think that you could smell what was wearing the metal, but there was nothing of the sort. Now she just needed a plan... It came to her rather quickly, she'd run in there and jump on it! That always worked. /always/. There was a moment of pause as she crouched down and prepared to charge, by now she could see vague shapes in the cave and whatever was ahead of her was big, plated and multi-headed. The glowing eyes helped her determine that bit though.
When the beast turned the opposite direction of them she took off, running quickly and efficiently before leaping... As she soared through the air towards it she couldn't help but lament the fact that Milovan wouldn't be able to see the glorious battle. ah we- *CLANG*... That hurt a lot more than she expected. She also noted the fact she landed about three inches from some spikes.
Whatever it was she had landed on didn't seem to take too kindly to it either, and suddenly there was a cacophony of a simultaneous triple roar (although it sounded more of surprise than battle), and the sound of an utterly metal creature flailing about and running into things.

The sickening sound of flesh hitting metal reached the hybrid's ears and he made a sound of distress for the female's plight even as fear continued to make him hesitate.
The roar struck his ears painfully and he winced, folding them back briefly before cursing himself for twenty kinds of a fool and beginning to slip forward. He would try and call out but he suddenly realized he didn't even know the other mix's name. Not that she would have heard him over the sound of the metal. . . thing. . . unless he had yelled, which he wouldn't do anyway, because he had a desire to live.
His hands stretched before him as he desperately tried to find Rei before the thing did, or even accidentally stepped on her, which sounded likely with the thrashing so nearby. His ears were up again, ready to duck or leap aside if he sensed something coming near him.
