It soon became obvious that Rei was a bit further up on things than Milovan had probably expected, especially as there was a loud call of 'take that!' followed by what sounded like one of the creatures heads getting slammed against the stone wall. Afterwards there was more stumbling and flailing that seemed slightly less organized than before... Obviously dizzy from that last attack, it fell over with another painfully loud clang right infront of Milovan.
A few seconds after the fall the cave lit up as one head let loose a gout of flame, and there was a moment of silence before a overly confident voice called out "Missed me!" and the metal monstrosity clambered back up and went after her.
Atleast throughout this whole ordeal it seemed rather oblivious to the blind hybrid, or in the very least didn't seem interested in causing it harm. The sound of claws slicing a chunk out of the wall in a missed swipe suggested it might not feel so amiable to the more... active hybrid running about.

Milovan's head jerked up and back again when the. . . thing. . . landed in front of him. The clang again hurt his ears and he went backwards a step or two.
The female's voice was a relief to hear, despite the fact that /what/ she said was inciting the monster and was definitely not trying to get away. Was she trying to kill it? He wanted to smack her in the back of the head, but for now didn't dare try to get any closer. With how much she was evidently jumping around, he was more likely to get himself either pounced or killed.
The cavern lit up for a moment, but all his dazzled eyes caught was a confirmation of the large form somewhere before him.
The mix began to carefully back up yet again; he was going to stick himself safely in a niche or escape entirely and wait for this battle to end. He found a large-ish stalagmite and curled his body unhappily around it.

The sound of fighting and such just got worse for awhile, at one point Rei squeaked rather loudly but it didn't sound very serious. Somehow it seemed she was outmaneuvering the creature effectively enough to keep from getting squashed. Occasionally there were random lights from fire or such that escaped the multi-headed creature, clangs when something or other ran into something else, and random one liners from the apparently suicidal hybrid.
It only lasted a couple minutes longer though, something happened followed by a 'clang-clang-clang' and then a loud crash as the metal creature stopped moving... Had she... Beaten it? There was no sound from the hybrid either for several moments before she prodded Milovan.
"Boo!"

The male was quivering slightly, as he held so tightly to his stalagmite, ears up listening to the fight and trying to figure out what was going on. A final crash made him jump and his hands tighten on the outcropping of rock a bit more. He wondered if it was safe to call out now, but what if this was a trick? He had almost convinced himself to at least try scooting out again and looking for the female, when something prodded his side.
That, more than the 'boo', caused him to leap back from the stalagmite, give a soft yelp of fear. He hit the cavern wall, eyes wide and heart racing. Stupid, stupid, stupid! He should have heard her! "Are you okay?" his voice came out harsher than he would have wanted, worry and fear etching lines of anger in his tone.

Rei was literally wriggling with excitement as she bounced around him, "You should have seen it! I was like Pow! and and it was like whooosh!" she nuzzled him then wriggled again, barely able to contain the massive amount of excitement about how she'd just vanquished some vile beasty.
After a little bit the scent of blood became evident, of course she had gotten injured when fighting the metal creature... Even if it hadn't fought back, being covered in metal plates and spikes were dangerous. "Oh, I'm fine, it's just a scratch... or two." she giggled again and puffed up somewhat.

He got the feeling that she was wiggling, especially when she'd scoot forward to nuzzle him. Milovan fought the urge to shake her and get some of that smug pleasure out of her voice. She could have died! Why did that not occur to her? Did she not even care? He fought off his agitation by sighing lightly as she giggled yet again.
"Nothing serious then?" he asked for clarification, though he wasn't certain if he'd be able to get a clear answer out of her whilst she was on such a triumph high. He could smell the blood in the air, but it didn't seem to be anything gushing or wild. Surely she'd be okay until they could actually get out of the cave. "Can we get out of here now?"

The fact that she could have died did occur to her, but that was the risk that all great warriors took every day! And she was no different. Anyways, no one ever died this early in their career. She did sort of pick up his want to escape this place though and picked up the leash to lead him out.
As for how serious the wounds were, one was superficial but the other one was actually bleeding a bit. She didn't care though, it wasn't life threatening yet or anything. "I've had worse! You think anyone's gonna write about my magnificent battle?" Yup... Her mind was a very complicated, and exceedingly one tracked thing.

Milovan sighed again, actually rolling his eyes in the darkness. Well, at least this was proof that she was okay. At least mentally. As they began to make their way back out of the cave-- at least, he hoped so; he was a little confused as to where they came in now-- he tried to answer politically. "Well, maybe after you tell them about it. Whatever that was, it seemed very large."
He would eventually notice that the smell of blood remained fresh, but for now he took her at her word-- goodness knew why-- and simply assumed that the blood scent was mainly because she had 'killed' the monster.

Rei nearly dragged him out of the cave this time, she was so excited she pretty much forgot that it took longer for him to pick his way across the stones. Luckily it was pretty clear due to her efforts earlier. "You mean I have to actually tell people!?" she scoffed, flicking her tail. "And it was a tsume, a big and mean one! All covered in metal, and with THREE HEADS!"
She brushed against him as they got to the exit of the cave, leaving a smear of blood across his shoulder... It was still warm. One could only assume that that meant it was from a current wound rather than splatter from the fight.

"How else will they find out?" Milovan asked a bit sardonically. He had his own reservations about the fact that she had just killed a tsume. Not that he was going to argue, especially not if it meant that they'd have to go back into the cave, but he didn't think randomly jumping tsume was the right answer.
He was pleased to see the lightening of the world as they headed back outside. Any relief, however, was quickly shot through by the sudden smear of something along his side. He turned his head to sniff at it, feet slowing and then stopping when he abruptly realized what was there.
"You're still bleeding!" he exclaimed, aghast.

She paused to ponder this, she'd never really thought about that before... But there were all those stories about people that never left anyone alive, obviously somehow people learned of them... "uh... You could write about it!" she exclaimed as an afterthought, immediately bursting out into giggles afterwards.
"Well duh, when you get cuts and gashes they bleed! I don't have any of that fancy healermagigs that some people have." She grinned widely, then reached over and picked up his hand, pressing it onto one of the large gashes. "See, it's not so bad!" it probably didn't feel very good either, though apparently she was as oblivious to pain as she was to danger.

Any interest in discussing stories and writing was long gone, especially when she stuck his hand onto the wound. He jerked back with a sound of dismay. "Are you trying to get that infected?" he snapped at her, voice trembling ever so slightly.
He stuck his head up again and tried to sniff the air, but he couldn't seem to overcome the blood scent now. "Find us a river or a pond or something," he told her in a rather stiff tone. He couldn't have said exactly why he was so upset, and at least it was unlikely that Rei would ask.

she paused and shuddered for a moment when he mentioned the word infected... "Uh... Well... No of course not." She had no idea why he was so angry, although she vaguely recalled what casimir had last told her about caring for her wounds... Something like 'don't run through the mud with that hole in your foot'. She never really figured it out till one of her wounds actually did get infected, and then there were the maggots...
"Uuugh.... Ok river! This way!" she giggled as she began to drag him along again, she remembered passing a river on the way over to where she had originally met him... And if her guess was correct, it probably came out of the mountains from around here somewhere.
"So... You wanna be my sidekick then?"

The male calmed down slightly when she immediately agreed to find a river and that she didn't want to get her wounds infected. It was a relief that she wasn't going to fight him on it, even if she didn't necessarily act like she had the sense of a chicken. He followed after her carefully, suddenly realizing that his hands, feet, and even shins felt a bit bruised. Well, it had likely happened in that stupid cave. At least the water would probably be cool and that should help ease some of his pain as well.
His thoughts were sidetracked entirely by her new quip and he turned to stare towards the red blob disbelievingly. "Your sidekick? Why would I want to be your sidekick?" His tone implied 'or anyone's', but she might not necessarily catch that.

She giggled as she lead him on, still occasionally wiggling in a way that suggested she was overly excited. Although the after glow of the battle was slowly beginning to wear off, she definitely wasn't going to stop talking about it for a long time though... It was unlikely anyone would believe her.
"Well, you obviously enjoy going on adventures with me! And it didn't sound like you have anything better to do." she stated in a matter-of-fact kind of way, she was thinking to herself again though... "Hmm... Say... Do you have any special powers?"
