Tsume Dragons, as their names suggest, are a species of dragon. In this topic, I plan only to discuss the very basics of their bodies and appearances. Information on elements, mutations, and any other deviation will not be found here.
Tsumes are mammals. As such, they give birth to live offspring, are warm blooded, and care for their young for a while. Their coats are rather odd, with thick and scaly hides covered in coats that range from thin to thick. Odd tufts of fur are common, and in rare occasions a Tsume will be completely scaly. But that's not for this topic. >> The basic Tsume has a wolf-like head with small ears and a pair of horns, generally straight.
Surprisingly enough, feathered wings are more usual for this species than draconic wings. The feathers are not actually feathers as found on birds, but a kind of feather made of specialized hairs. As they are built to fly, Tsumes tend to weigh very little, and are surprisingly muscular.
Their tails are not usually fluffy as typical of a wolf or fox, but long and draconic.
Tsumes are carnivorus creatures. Their appetites range toward raw and fresh food, and they typically scorn scavenging for food (eew it's old. ). However, as with any sentient race, every Tsume has a different appetite. Some find that they actually like the tastes of vegetable matter.
Gestation period for a Tsume is between 6-8 months. Offspring are usually single, though two offspring at a single birthing is neither uncommon nor unexpected. At birth, Tsumes are blind, hairless, big headed and footed, and completely helpless. They grow quickly, and generally by two weeks their eyes are open (baby eyes are blue), they can walk, and they are able to eat meat.
Again, this is just the basic Tsume. Mutations are extremely common, making this a diverse-appearing dragon.
