Every gryvern, upon adulthood, chooses a Caste. This is rather like a job, but a noctyier will be inclined towards one. Many noctyier know instinctively wot they want to be and will begin training as soon as they can.
When they go into their Caste, a gryvern can learn at least 2 Caste abilities. They will learn the first one from their peers, but the others can sometimes be learned from their peers or learned from a Tactician.
