A Historian is just that; a gryvern who researches and preserves history. Generally a Historian will focus on gryvern history only, but there's no reason they couldn't focus on something other than gryvern.
Because they don't have a written language, everything the learn must be stored in their minds and repeated back verbally as needed. Their abilities help them with this rather daunting task and some of the older Historians are capable of recalling centuries of knowledge.
Historians are marked with a tassel, which seems to grow magically with the knowledge they accumulate. Historians and Scholars tend to work closely together.
