Navish muttered under his breath. For the most part, he didn't like going out, leaving the Mountain and his warm, cozy cave. But every now and then an errand drags him out of his "happy place" and forces him to exert unusual amounts of energy getting from one place to another. He was getting too old for this, he grumbled to himself.
But at last, his task complete, the Fire Tsume could think about heading home and taking a nice long nap...

Bhodan was not too happy at the moment either, she had been hunting carefully... Slowly stalking her prey. It was difficult for her to find and catch food (despite her rather... stout appearance). Her sulfurous smell just gave her away much too often, animals were rather sensitive to scents after all... Everything had been going great! that was until some stumbling, grumbling buffoon passed too close to her prey and sent it running. She leapt for it, but landed just out of reach and had to watch as it took off... Someone was going to pay. She rose up again after her rather ungraceful maneuver, little bits of grass and leaves burst into flame as her blood began to boil (more so than usual) and she stormed directly towards him. "You better have a @#%@^ #@%#* good reason for scaring off my food!" From how angry she sounded, it seemed like she may be thinking of substituting him for her prey at the moment... Which, actually wasn't too far off, she was hungry enough to consider a teeny bit of cannibalism... Just once or... five times didn't mean you were a cannibal right?

*sniff* Now what was that godawful smell?? Smelt like someone burning rotten eggs. Navish cough, muttering something about his lungs. His coughing nearly prevented him from hearing the bellow of the other Tsume...well, no, one would have to be deaf not to hear it. No, he was certain the deaf would have heard her. Probably woke the dead too.
He shuffled around on his two legs to face her, grumpily plopping himself down in her path. "You should respect your elders, pup. I'm not so old that I can't hear you...and such foul language too! What would your parents think?"
((OOC - this is like some bizarre merge between Grumpy Old Men and some slasher flick *twitch*))

Was... was this guy serious?! He called her a /pup/? She was only a few inches from teaching him to respect someone that had claws large enough to turn his insides into outsides. He wasn't even that much older than her! or atleast he didn't look it.
"My /parents/" she growled out the word "Would think that I should remove your entrails and strangle you with them for calling me that!" It was probably a good thing she never listened to her parents... She got a distinct feeling that if she had, she would have a great deal less friends... She didn't let on to that fact though, and instead spat a glob of flaming brimstone right beside his head.
(( OOC: He better be careful, she might attack him if he keeps on like this.. XD ))

He frown as she, well spit wasn't the right word, spit was wet and slimy, not flaming and smelling like sulfur. Navish grunted and shuffled a little to the side, away from the, err, blob. The heat didn't bother him, it was the principle of the thing. Icky.
As he pondered how to respond to this insolent child he resettled his wings into a more comfortable position. Yes, a nap would have been a much better way to spend the afternoon, he sighed with regret. Now this pup obviously had anger issues, children these days just weren't being brought up right anymore. She should either *actually* strangle him with his entrails, or not even bring it up. Lots of talk, posturing and hot air, not much action. Things were different in his day, when one didn't threaten to teach a lesson, one simply taught it.
Unfortunately his days of lesson teaching had passed, especially when presented with such a formidable student. Time had taught him some tricks that would be useful, but even though her fire couldn't harm him (nor could his harm her), she had rather more impressive talons than he. And his wings were not an advantage here, with her being gifted with flight as well. Though he being smaller and lighter he could probably outmaneuver her if necessary. Besides, hard to nap when battered and bruised. He sighed in regret of the "good old days".
One must wonder what the female was thinking while he was obviously having this long conversation with himself, interspersing the time with a random sigh here and there...

When he split off from the current situation, completely ignoring the utterly miffed tsume ahead of him she had to question his sanity... Well, no she didn't. He was completely rot-brained, apparently he had aged to the point that he could no longer tell his inner voice from his outer one. He'd probably taste horrible too, well... if she could taste anything other than sulfur all the time, that might be a deterrent. As it was she was increasingly beginning to wonder about his edibility.
She opened her mouth to spout out another demand or insult, but then smirked and after a slight gurgle... Sprayed him right on the face with a puff of somewhat sticky, smoldering brimstone. It smelled.... awful. Even worse than her breath.
"I will make this very clear so your addled brain can handle it. Get me food to replace what you scared off. Or become it." She bore her teeth, which were all rather... sharp looking. She was anything but patient, and silent old geezers wasting her time were not very appreciated... Especially when she was hungry.
If he had met her when she was full, she might have acted more civil. Atleast in the fact she was less likely to spit in his face, other than that her attitude was a rather unchanged. Of course, compliments tended to mellow her out a bit since she so rarely got them. Unfortunately for her current company though, unless some serious changes of attitude were in the works he was in for some rather unpleasant surprises..

Fortunately he managed to close his eyes in time. It was hot, but couldn't burn him, but oh, how it stank. Nothing like his clean, pure fire. He shook his head, splattering the surroundings with globs of gook, and narrowed his eyes at the female, his lips pulled back in a snarl. His tail twitched in annoyance.
"Are you so incapable of hunting yourself, that you would lower yourself to asking an old Tsume such as myself to fetch you your food? You, with those razor talons and sharp fangs? I cannot believe that, lest you be lazy."
Hard to say if that was a compliment or not. Though he praised her physique, and rightly so, he was probably walking a dangerous line with that lazy bit. But it was clear through his demeanor that he found it incomprehensible that she should have any trouble hunting. The only reason that a creature as powerful as she could fail would have to be from lack of trying.
A puff of irritated smoke escaped his nostrils. And he almost gagged as he breathed more of that sulfurous smell.

Some of the grass near her feet began to brown and dry out as she huffed... She didn't really want to eviscerate some old geezer, but the temptation was nearly too great for her to hold back. And where did he get off calling her a pup? She gave a swipe at his face with her claws, but it was obvious she wasn't putting too much effort into it. Although if he wasn't fast, it would still leave a rather painful mark.
"Anything I can reach I can kill, but these #%@$ things can smell me a mile away!" she didn't want to admit that she couldn't usually smell them because of her unique... condition... but it was probably pretty obvious...
( Sorry for the long delay, classes have been eating my creativity )

As her talons swished towards his face, his serpentine neck snaked back surprisingly fast for the old man that he was, like a turtle would pull its head back into its shell. He shuffled back a bit.
"Hmmm," he mumbled as he considered her dilemma. True, her smell would definitely be a dead giveaway of her presence. Staying downwind of prey would help somewhat, but if she hadn't figured that out already, there was no hope for her. And even then, one would have to have a dysfunctional olfactory organ to not notice her, downwind or otherwise. And to tell her to hunt something that couldn't smell would severely limit her diet to...veggies?
"Fish..." he muttered, knowing that a fire based Tsume wouldn't care much to spend that much time in the water. Besides, the moment she touched the water every fish for miles would smell her and avoid that part of the river.
One of his taloned toes tapped the stone ground as he thought about the problem. "You can't ambush as your prey will notice you. Though you are strong you lack in speed, and thus those attacks will also fail, except on slower prey."
He then began considering solutions, "Your flight is an asset, make good use of it, even if you are neither graceful nor swift, many land-based prey do not expect aerial attacks, smelly or otherwise. And have you considered hunting in volcanic areas, where your scent would not be so pronounced? The creatures that live there may not be the most appetizing but at least they qualify as food."

She snorted loudly 'slow'? she wasn't slow. It's true that she wasn't exceptionally fast, but she was very far from slow. she hated all these dumb assumptions that he made, and suggestions that anyone with even half a brain could have thought of. She already knew all this crap he was spouting to her.
"Fish?!" she nearly guffawed. "I'd like to see you try to fish fire-ass. Water is @#%$ing painful!" it was pretty obvious at that point that she began to disregard the rest of what he was talking about... hunting near volcanoes would be even worse than out here, animal life was so scarce up there even if it was easier to sneak up on it.
"Guess what, I've lived with my self for many years, all your idiotic suggestions I've already tried! and I AM. NOT. SLOW." To demonstrate this fact, she made a sudden snap at him, it wasn't as half-assed as the swipe she had attempted earlier... and definitely did show that she had more speed than one might expect... atleast over short distances.

Fortunately the old geezer still had acceptable reflexes and he was able to avoid losing his head...barely. His eyes narrowed. He knew he was in danger, and that there was no way he could fight his way out. And forget talking his way out, she a Tsume with a brain of rock.
Little flickers of flame fluttered from his nostrils as he breathed. He was NOT going to end his long life this way. He looked up at the darkening sky, and the heavy black stormclouds gathering. Though the other Tsume was fast enough to catch an elder Tsume such as himself, her weight was much greater than his, so in the air he would have a distinct advantage. Especially as he's always had a talent for dancing with the winds, granted, he couldn't do those aerial acrobatics like he once could, but still, he could outfly enough other winged Tsumes to maintain pride in his skill.
Neither of them could use their flames to much effect (unless she intended to stink him to death), and it appears she found water painful. He disliked getting wet, but it wasn't painful, just slimy, icky, yucky.
But one thing he would die before doing, acknowledging her as anything but the insolent pup that she was. With the first flash of lightning he took to the air, his tail scattering earth and dirt at her face to temporarily blind her, hoping that she wouldn't feel he would be worth pursuing...though he was confident he could escape her, he wasn't stupid enough to think it would be easy....
