General information about the Gryvern that you should keep in mind when you play, especially for those who have come from Dor'shia. some of this is covered on the website. Gryvern refer to different dimensions/worlds as Realities. Their Home Reality is referred to as dor'shia de're. They will refer to is as Dor'shia, but this is also the name of their home at Hawkings Crest-- Dor'shia Valley. Normally context can easily clue one in on which Reality they mean. Dor'shia de're doesn't have much water-- there are three main water sources, and a smattering of tiny pools that couldn't be called much more than puddles-- so any Gryvern from the Home Reality will be rather enamoured with the amount of water available in other Realities. Many Gryvern are known to play in at, as though still swie-- even Fires enjoy the water; they have nothing stopping them from getting into it just like any other Type. The main enemy of the Gryvern is the Poisontail. As far as anyone knows, the Poisontail have no ability to travel between Realities. More on Poisontail below.

The people, Gryvern, and places your Gryvern likely knows about.
All Gryvern will know who Sera is-- the keeper of Hawkings Crest and thus the one who allowed them freedom from their Home Reality. If your Gryvern has met Sera, they may also know Mishuen. Mishuen is a Miberu and looks like a large wolf with tufted ears (like the Naa have). He is capable of shifting into a night elf form.
The first Gryvern to come through Crest will have met Mozer, and basically everyone else will have heard of him. Mozer negotiated the 'contract' that allowed them to come to Crest. Depending on who your Gryvern was around, they may have a positive or negative opinion of him.
Casimir was one of the first Gryvern to come over-- following his friend Mozer. Casimir is well-known as an excellent Warriour-- rumour currently places him as the best fighter alive. Many Gryvern will have at least heard of Casimir's exploits, even if they have not met him.
All Gryvern know of Hawkings Crest and have visited there, except, perhaps, those born out-Realm. This is currently limited to certain hybrid babies. Nevertheless, there is still an excellent chance that your Gryvern or hybrid has at least visited Crest once.
Only a few Gryvern really know about Splithorn, and even fewer know what he looks like. Splithorn is the Poisontail who has been uniting the tribes and taking over dorshia' de're. He looks like a ghostly satyr, with a large horn sprouting from his forehead that is split and looks a bit like an antler. One Gryvern and one hybrid thus far have seen Splithorn and have lived to escape his presence.

The political side of Gryvern-society.
A very straight-laced society, when the Gryvern first came to Crest, things were somewhat relaxed, but with recent developments in dor'shia de're more of the older Gryvern have migrated as well. They formed a council of their eldest and most powerful to determine the future of the Gryvern.
Many of these Gryvern are displeased and even angry with Mozer. Mozer did negotiate the way for them to escape the death that waited for them in their Home Reality, but he also opened the doors for cross-breeding with other species. It's too late to stop this now, and the council have appointed themselves in charge of deciding who is actually Gryvern and therefore welcome into their society and who is not.
The tentative decision right now is 75% Gryvern blood constitutes a full Gryvern, though this may change once some of the hybrids begin to breed. (Currently, 50% Gryvern blood is the highest amount in any hybrid.) There is a faction that is fighting to make hybrids with any Poisontail blood at all automatically defunct from full Gryvern status, no matter how much Gryvern blood they attain.

Information about the Poisontail. D8
A Poisontail is a creature from dor'shia de're that is not a Gryvern. It's easy to look at one and tell that it is a Poisontail, but there are no similar characteristics to point out to mark them as a species. It's assumed that rogue magics mutated the first of the Poisontail and now all have so many mutations that no one knows what they originally looked like.
The Poisontail have notoriously run about in tribes. Most tribes remained quite small because there was always an incredibly amount of in-fighting and fighting between tribes. In short, they could be counted on to kill each other off.
In recent years, several tribes have begun to work together, an absolutely unheard of event in the past. Through research-- and the loss of at least a dozen Gryvern lives-- it was learned that a Poisontail named Splithorn had basically taken over the tribes and was working to unite all Poisontail under his control.
Not many Gryvern know specifically about Splithorn, but they do know that the Poisontail took control of all three major water sources. Things had been difficult before, but were now nearly untenable. When Mozer suggested they find refuge in another Reality, most Gryvern were relieved and in favour of the the move.
Several attempts have been made to be rid of Splithorn, but thus far none have succeeded.
Poisontail are notoriously obsessed with the Gryvern. It's considered a mark of honour to have one in your possession, or to have hybrid offspring. The trouble is that female Gryvern will always die giving birth to Poisontail hybrid offspring. Female Poisontail have no trouble birthing hybrid young, however.
