Abilities
Water is considered one of the four basic elements of Tsume dragons, accompanied by Fire, Air, and Earth. They are the most common types in the wild.
Water Tsumes are linked to water and moisture. They are known to have some basic healing abilities, as do all water-linked Tsumes. They have the ability to breathe under water. As with all Tsumes, they go into life with little control over water, but with time they can hone their skills to an incredible level. A high skill level Tsume is able to manipulate water to use as a weapon, and if an ally is trapped under water, they are able to create a "bubble" of air around their heads, enabling them to breathe safely.
Appearance and Some Common Mutations
Appearance-wise, Water Tsumes tend to be on the big side. It is almost expected for them to have little or no fur, their bodies covered instead in a thick, smooth skin. They come in shades of blue, green, and purple - general water colors. Markings are common. Wings are extremely rare, and in place they generally have elaborate fins. A common mutation is that of fluffy external gills emerging from behind the ears, which are usually fin-like. They almost always have a finned tail as well.
The fins of a Water Tsume are the most interesting aspect of the type. When the Tsume has limbs, they almost always have webbed fingers and toes and smaller fins emerging from the shoulders and other joints of the limb. Most often, in place of hands, the Tsume will have two large fins.
For a Water Tsume to not have fins is almost unheard of, but it has been documented.
Water Tsumes can breathe in and out of water.
