Gryvern refer to elements as 'Types'.
As of now, every gryvern will exhibit one Type. There are 7 Types of gryvern and Types do NOT crossbreed. Why? Because Type crossbreeds will either cause horrible mutations or, more likely, sterility or swies mortality. No gryvern would willing force that on their young, so Types simply did not crossbreed.
In their Home Reality there was not time or energy to work on this. There is some hopes, in some camps, that the current outbreeding program will help fix these sorts of gryvern breeding issues.
Types don't determine personality; type is just rather something that happens. Occasionally a gryvern will be born who embodies the Type. All gryvern will carry parts of their Type, but, for example, not all Fires are hot-tempered.
