Ziven couldn't help a pang of sympathy for the inferno tsume; that had to be terrible. Snow could be rather fun, despite his getting sick, but he'd rather be in a nice tropical rain. You still get the fun sensations (mostly) without the chill.
He gave a small, quirky smile at her winter plan; it almost seemed like a good one. Though something struck him as slightly strange. Ah, well, not worth stressing over. "Do you have a lot of snow where you live?" he asked curiously.

She wondered what that little smile was about for a moment, but assumed he had noticed some sort of hint in her plan for the winter. Maybe he wasn't completely oblivious then. "Yeah, lots of tsumes die in the winter." She said with a shrug, glancing over at the fire as she thought about it... It should probably be a sad topic, but she never really met anyone that she'd feel sorry if they died so it didn't bother her. "You know, from cold, or starvation. Tsumes don't really do well in cold... Err... Except the cold ones." She said feeling like it was kind of dumb that she had said that, since well, it was obvious right? A snow tsume probably wouldn't mind the snow.

Ziven turned to stare at her in shock again; she was constantly surprising him. "Do the other tsume not help them?" The thought was completely mind-blowing for the gryvern; they would do pretty much anything to help one of their own. To let another die of cold or starvation, well, unless the whole group was going to do the same, was beyond all reasoning. This, of course, had led to quite a few deaths when the Poisontail had taken someone hostage, but, still. You didn't leave one of your own on their own. Not if you could save them.

After a moment she realized he was staring at her in shock once more, did she say something wrong? Or was it really surprising that tsume might die of starvation or cold? She guessed it was the latter due to his question, but what was the explanation? umm... err.. Wait, that was pretty easy wasn't it? a lot of tsumes were loners. or something.
"Sometimes tsumes band together during winter..." She shrugged at him, what else was there to say? He didn't know that? "Umm... a lot of tsume are just kinda on their own, unless they have a mate or are part of a clan" She pretty much spat out the word clan, she didn't like any of the ones she had seen or heard about... It was pretty much an excuse for tsumes to inbreed with eachother due to exceedingly high standards for entry to the clans.

"Sometimes?" he asked, not wanting to step into the particular topic of 'clans' just now. . . at least not with how she had said that and without some further guarantee that she wouldn't just take a bite out of him because she was ticked off. .. . . ^^;;
"A gryvern will never let another gryvern die if they have the chance to save them," the Fire said firmly. "Sera says we're something like a collectivist society, not individualistic. The needs of the group or more important than the needs of the individual." He seemed very proud of that.

She smiled at him, toothily. It was a somewhat reassuring smile though, despite the amount of teeth showing. "Lemme guess, Gryvern are also free of pre-... uh... pre-judice?" She said almost sarcasticly, at first she almost thought he was joking, but then shook her head. "Tsumes might be more like that if they ever formed groups... Groups that Worked that is." she said with a small huff... Then seemed to calm down again, the speed at which she could change to angry and then back to calm was rather.... Quick wasn't it?
"Last winter I tried to help someone..." She trailed off, then shifted forward alittle bit and showed off the series of marks on her shoulder that rather looked like... Slashes, or scars... Oh, they were scars. "It didn't work out."

Ziven tilted his head, regarding the marks with obvious sorrow. Impulsively he leaned forward to give the marks a gentle lick. "I'm sorry it didn't work out." Even though it was obvious that tsume society was sorely lacking. How sad that was! To not be able to rely on your fellow creature! He couldn't help pitying the poor tsume.
"Perhaps the tsume will pick up some of our society," he mused aloud. "Just as we hope to pick up some of your genetics."

Bhodan purred alittle bit when he licked the marks that had been left after her attempted kindness, it tickled abit. "It's not your fault half the tsume out there are psycho..." She said with a small chuckle, returning the kind gesture he showed her with a light nuzzle.
She... Really didn't know much about gryvern society, but if they had one then they were already better off than the tsumes. which was good. "That'd be good... Something's better than nothing." a small sigh escaped after she said that, and she just let the comment about genetics go off into nothingness, she didn't really know genetics that well.

"Well, not necessarily," he disagreed quietly, but he really wasn't up for a philosophical discussion about the dredges of society; afterall, the Poisontail had just enough society to make them a threat, but that was all. "So, we'll just have to band together to help any other solitary tsume, and that should take care of that problem."
He hoped the sigh didn't mean she was upset about something, partially, again, because he had no guarantee that her being upset wouldn't necessarily mean the loss of some part of his body.

She shrugged, then chuckled alittle bit at his next comment, band together to save solitary tsumes? She could do that she supposed, it could be fun wandering around with him... It wasn't likely that they'd find anyone anyways... Err, when or if they ever did that, obviously they weren't going to rush off right now to do it.
"Sounds like a plan." She said with another laugh, why'd he tense up whenever she seemed upset? It wasn't like she'd take a bite out of him or anything, however tempting it may be... Of course she was a uh, 'bit' bigger than him wasn't she? That could be pretty scary to someone as delicate looking as him, especially after that comment on how he tasted good. "Do gryvern eat sentient things? I uh, avoid it but just wondering." she said as she thought about it, of course she'd eat a sentient thing if it was small and say, not a dragon and looked tasty... Or if it was dead when she got there.

"Of course not," Ziven sent her a look that bordered on distasteful, but there was a hint of wondering fear beneath it. She 'avoided' it? That made it sound like she didn't really care. . . He probably just heard wrong; after all, who would want to eat sentient beings? "We don't eat anything sentient, and we only kill if we absolutely must." Though, of course, the definition of 'absolutely must' was very wide. . . especially when it came to the Poisontail. But those were abominations and needed to be contained. . . preferably through their extinction.

"That's good... My parents tried to raise me to think that the only thing I shouldn't eat were tsumes, Din't agree though... When I think about it, I'm glad I don't like my family." She said then grinned at him and gave him a nudge with her arm. Standing up she stretched alittle bit before walking over and onto the coals of the fire, stopping halfway to the center and looking back at him. "So wanna join me, or is it too hot for you to handle?" She asked teasingly as she took another step forward, Red hot coals crackling beneath her feet as sparks and tufts of flame shot up from the remaining scraps of wood.

The world felt cooler without her by his side; which was an interesting occurence, he thought. Unsurprising, but interesting. He rose and picked his way closer to the remains of the fire with interest. "It had never occurred to me to go walking around in a fire," he admitted a bit loftily, even as he leaned down to eye the coals with interest. He wasn't entirely certain he wanted it to occur to him now. . .

She didn't seem effected in the least by the red hot coals or wispy flames that danced about the fire, infact she seemed to like them a lot and occasionally tried to grab a escaping ember in her mouth for fun... Like grabbing fireflies... With your teeth... right. "Well, you weren't used to this level of heat before... Just give it a try, if it's too hot hop out." She suggested as she looked around in the coals... Picking one of the hotter looking ones up out of the fire with her teeth and walking over to him and dropping it on the ground. "Try touching it..." she said with a wide grin. Better a small burn on a paw than one that enveloped a foot.

Ziven stared down at the burning ember with a vague sense of disbelief. Mostly because he knew he was going to do it. Right. This was definitely not one of his more intelligent moments. With hesitation, he lifted his right paw and extended the black limb out before carefully touching it to the coal, prepared to jerk back at the first sign of pain.
Perhaps it was just that his body temperature was so high, but it really didn't feel like anything more than a warmed stone. . . "Huh. It doesn't hurt." Very surprising.
