Milovan got another glimpse of those rogueish purple eyes and a large grin and then something was over his head and he glanced upwards in surprise as Rei tugged him forward. Whoa, now! Even as he considered balking, however, he had reacted to the tugs like a well-trained dog, coming up and following a step or two behind the female.
"Wot is this?" he asked sharply. "I'm not your pet. Get this thing off of me!" Currently he was less afraid of faceless monsters that might try to eat them and more concerned with the very real 'monster' that was controlling him. Not only was he not good with violence, he evidently wasn't so great with confrontration. That little spat was about as far as he would likely go, despite his frustration.

Rei giggled at him and kept going on happily, dragging him along at a regular walking speed... She didn't want to trip him up too much, and made sure to steer him around things that might give him trouble. This was kind of fun, she had to admit. especially since he didn't seem capable of resisting.
"It's a leash!" she answered with a small laugh then gave him another small tug. "We're using the uh, buddy system so we don't get seperated or anything. I hold onto this end and you have that end." she explained easily, giving him a small tug to guide him past a low branch beside them. "I'm your seeing eye uh, thingy!"

Despite some hesitancy in how he placed his feet, Milovan was still moving faster than he had in years. Well, faster at a steady pace that wasn't part of a frantic dash to get away from something or someone and thus far hadn't involved running into anything. He kept up fairly well with her pace, especially since she was making sure to not just walk him into a tree. Still, his head was up, nose going, and ears flicking about almost desperately.
"If you're the seeing eye 'thingy'," he retorted quietly. "Why isn't the leash on -you-?"

Every once in awhile she slowed down so he didn't seem so freaked out, or to maneuver through some particularly annoying patches of brush or rocks and such. seeming to have a great deal of fun dragging along the hapless hybrid. holding the 'leash' in her mouth. when he seemed to be intent on continuing the little conversation she switched it back to one hand.
"Because you're more dog like, all furry and brown! It'd look silly if I were on the leash... And you have bad grammar." she said with a nod then giggled at him and brushed the tuft of her tail across his nose in a tickling manner

"I do not look like a dog and wot do you mean I have bad grammar? My grammar is fine." Milovan jerked back suddenly at the tail across his nose, thinking he'd been about to walk into something. After a moment it seemed evident he had not, and his head shifted back and forth as he tried to figure out wot had just attacked his muzzle.
Rei -had- been a pretty good guide thusfar; he hadn't run into anything or even her so far and that was a good day in his book.

She eyed him for a moment, looking up and down over him as she walked a bit slower, so that she didn't run into anything while moving. "Well, you're brown... Dogs are brown." She grinned then giggled. "Err, grammar isn't the right word. Ehehe I was never good at that stuff." she seemed momentarily sane during that moment... before she giggled again and sped back up to their regular pace.
They were getting somewhat near a mountain in the area, Rei knew where a large cave system was and that's exactly where she was leading them to. she had never been inside but it had to have huge and horrible monsters in there!

The slower pace ws a mental relief to him, though he wasn't thinking quite so consciously about it. He always moved slow and carefully now, so the normal pace was almost like a sustained jog for him, used to roaming as he was or not.
"I have feathers," Milovan pointed out with a flick of his tail and a twitch of his shoulder feathers. "Dogs don't have feathers. Ever." It was less like arguing and more like talking, though, despite a desire -to- argue.
Abruptly he realized that he didn't know where they were going. "Where are you taking us?" And then he realized he'd said something about mountains and caves earlier. "Oh, no."

Rei stuck her tongue out at him when he pointed out the fact he had feathers and dogs did not, that little comment didn't seem to effect her idea of his much more dog like appearance in the least. It took a lot to change her mind, if it was even possible to do. "Dogs definitely don't have spikes though, and you're hairy-er." that was a pretty bland statement for her, and she shrugged it off.
when he asked where she was taking them a wide and evil grin spread over her face, and before she could even tell him he let out that small 'oh, no' which caused her teeth to show from the size of her grin. "Oh yes~" she laughed then looked back at him. "Hey, you're blind anyways it being dark shouldn't matter!"

Spikes? She had spikes? He had a moment of disoriented inspection of the red blurry shape before him. Yes, there were somethings coming off of her, but they didn't really look like spikes. Of course, many things didn't look like wot they were until he had run into them and he really didn't want to find out about her spikes firsthand.
"I don't like mountains," Milovan replied as his attention returned in time to catch her laughing at him. Again. Really, there were just too many things to trip on and an awfully long fall if you weren't careful. No, thank you. "And caves don't seem like your type of place." Or a perfect place for her, he thought wryly. There were surely all sorts of monsters in the shape of stalagmites.

"Well, we're not going on the mountain! We're going in it so don't worry." She gave him another small tug to move him closer beside of her, giggling at the thought of having her own little hybrid doggy. He'd make such a good sidekick if she could just get him a bit more adventurous spirit... unless... Oh yeah, he could be like scooby doo! He was totally the right colour, no speech impediment though. "I live in a cave! This should be easy, don't worry." she said easily as she slowed to move beside him, still leading him with the 'leash'
The terrain was getting a bit rougher as they went, more rocks and less grass... the trees were also a bit more sparse. it was likely they were approaching whereever it was that she had thought of when 'caves and monsters' were mentioned...

"In is not much better than on," Milovan muttered quietly, responding to the tug and coming closer though he didn't really realize he had done so. It was just as well he was oblivious to her thoughts; he would not have liked them.
As they continued onwards his step instinctively began to slow as he worked to pick his way across the rocky path without slipping. His ears flicked about as he tried to get a better idea of where exactly they were. Knowing his luck and her mental state, he was probably going to get stranded up here. The hybrid gave a small sigh of projected annoyance.

She slowed a bit more then stopped beside him, looking around the area quizzically. "Let's take a break," she announced suddenly. It was hard to tell why she'd want to stop moving, since she was just barely restraining herself from dragging him along with the leash most of the time. but somewhere in her mind something had actually sort of attempted to think ahead, now to see if she could use that sane part of her mind to function long enough to help them.
"Wanna feel my spikes?" she asked out of the blue, reaching down and grabbing his hand, guiding it along her short smooth fur to on of the spikes on her head. "If we fall or something in the cave it'd be good if you knew where on me they were." she said with a surprising amount of non-hyperness. She wasn't actually too worried about herself falling down, but he nearly fell a couple times just walking this far... she was a bit worried she'd end up having to carry him later, even though he was bigger.

Milovan blinked in surprise as she snatched his hand and placed it against her hide. She was smooth and silky probably despite her lack of attention to personal hygiene. She seemed the type to just forget, but perhaps he was still projecting his annoyance on her.
He didn't fight her guiding movements, though he may have caressed her lightly as his dark hand came to rest on her spike. He followed the direction with his nose, before leaning forward when she let his hand stop. He tried to get everythign a bit better in focus, but he wanted to be careful; he certainly didn't want to lose an eye because the other hybrid jerked whilst he was leaning in.
She was a very nice colour up close, Milovan mused idly, and he brought his other hand up to abruptly cup her face, faded pink eyes searching her features with unexplained intensity. Yes, he was right, she did have very lovely eyes.

She was remarkably calm and still as he leaned in closer to her... she giggled as he cupped her face though, it felt kind of funny to have someone doing that to her that wasn't jaradka or Casimir checking to see how injured she was after jumping into combat with something random out in the woods.
It took a couple moments but then her thoughts came back to the present and she giggled again and tilted her head to the side slightly, she did like getting petted... but she wasn't going to admit that. "I have some more on my shoulders and lower back... and tail." she said with another stifled giggle... it was hard to tell what she thought was so funny about this.

Milovan took this as tacit permission, so the faded eyes caught the edge of vibrant blue and he turned his gaze to that. The blue was evidently a line and continued down her deep-toned coat. He began to follow the blue carefully, one hand running just above the odd line. He paused at her shoulders to inspect the protrusions with interest, then continued onward. Down her back and to her hindquarters, Milovan paused again at the spikes there, but he was more interested in the spiral of the line. He traced just above the blue again, stopping at the end of the other colour with a soft "Hrm."
That done, Milovan retraced his path back up to the back spikes and headed down her tail to inspect the spikes protruding from the tail tuft back there. He paused to pick some leaves and tangles out of reddish-brown mass, then toouched the spikes there curiously as well.
"How very interesting," he finally said, turning his face back towards her head, though he couldn't actually see her.
