She stuck her tongue out at him as she hopped in the water and began splashing about, supposedly getting herself clean. Her results were debatable though. And a lot of the water seemed to be directed at him, rather than herself.
Eventually when he was out of splashing range she turned her attention over to the wounds, washing them out somewhat as she began to shiver... "This water is cold! Can't I just wait for it to stop bleeding somewhere warmer?"

Milovan tried to ignore the splashing, though the hits of water caused him to shiver slightly and his hide to twitch uncomfortably. He finally moved further on just so they could both concentrate on their tasks. He was pleased, in the end, by the move, since it caused him to find the right type of moss, finally. He gathered it up carefully, hoping that he had enough for Rei's wounds.
He made his very careful way back to the female as she complained loudly. He put his burden down carefully on the shore and glanced out towards the water. "Well, then come over here." She'd be in long enough and the water seemed quick flowing enough that most of the dirt should be washed out be now. He hoped.

To think that anything would be that easy around this particular female was a foolish thought, when asked to come over to the shore she sat down out in the water where she was. Her tail flicking in the water and splashing occasionally as she stuck her tongue out at him. "Why don't you come out here?"
Secretly (although anyone would be able to predict it) she was planning on pouncing, and/or splashing him once he got a little closer. If he had better eyesight he could see how she was wiggling in the pre-pounce position.

Milovan turned to look out at her again, this time focusing more fully on her. "If I go out there," he pointed out logically. "The moss would get soaked and that would defeat the point entirely. Come over here."
He wasn't exactly coaxing her, though he also very much didn't want to go out into the water. If she absolutely refused to come in, he'd likely cave and go out to her-- knowing that she was hyperactive and mischievous didn't change the fact that it simply didn't occur to him that she'd want to pounce him-- though he already guessed at least some of his harvest would go to waste. But he'd known that when he was picking it.

"Just leave it there for now..." she giggled a little bit before smiling innocently- for what good it did someone who could hardly distinguish shapes as it was. "You still need to wash the blood off of you!" she pointed out as she waited.
For some reason a lot of things were beginning to seem a bit more inherently funny, and the world was slightly more dizzy than before. She didn't really care though- this was going to be great! She was going to totally soak him.

Milovan tilted his head uneasily. "I'd rather take care of your wound first," he said, as sternly as he could. He picked up a bit of the moss and waded carefully out towards her, guessing this would be the only way to take care of the wound. She certainly wasn't working with him on the matter. He truly would have thought that her survival instincts were a bit stronger than this, but, eh. He wasn't any sort of fighter. He'd always figured there had to be something wrong with someone who made a point of getting beaten up on a regular basis.
Because he had the moss in one hand, he was actually moving carefully forward on only three legs.

Her giggling only grew louder as he began to approach... She didn't want him to bring the moss since it'd just get soaked anyways, but there was plenty left on the shore! she edged to one side slightly, then pounced forward using his weakened three-legged stance to her advantage as she attempted to pin, and dunk him once maybe.
It'd be easy for him to keep his head above water, and the slippery stones actually gave him a chance of pushing her over during or after the initial struggle. Needless to say the moss was probably MIA now.

Though he should have seen it coming, he didn't. At least he wasn't surprised when she pounced him. He tried to hold onto the moss instinctively, which caused his fall to have less control than it might otherwise. He couldn't have said why; as soon as it got wet it would lose the very properties he had collected it for.
His head went under and he gulped a little water before frantically thrusting it back above the surface. He immediately went into a coughing fit, rolling to the side to get his legs under him so he could drop his head down below the level of his lungs and cough and cough. It burned coming back out, just as it had going down. Milovan couldn't recover immediately, still coughing weakly in a rather useless effort to abate the burning pain. As such, he didn't even have the breath to mildly rebuke the female, much less berate her, regardless of how badly he might want to.

Rei was giggling and cackling loudly when he was dunked, but afterwards she began to felt a bit guilty... Rolling over, and then back up to her feet she patted him on the back, and attempting to help him recover a bit. She was still giggling madly though
"You should have seen the look on your face! It was great!" she patted him on the back a bit harder, then rubbed his side. "You were like 'aaah! warghmrgle'" she went on to make some other very descriptive noises and faces to demonstrate what he was like... As if he didn't even know.

Milovan's ears went backwards at her descriptions and continued laughter, even though some of it was covered by his continued hacking. He only had one more semi-bad fit. "Well then," his voice was hoarse, and he didn't bother to try to hide the fact that he hurt so badly. "Let's take care of your wound, then." He doggedly headed back towards shore, though he was missing his original entry point by about two feet.

Rei sort of guided him over to the initial landing spot, although she made sure that he didn't get the rest of the moss wet. It seemed, at least for the moment she was cooperating, one could only guess how long it'd be before she decided to pounce him or do something equally as foolish though.
"Why d'ya use moss? wouldn't it just get the wound dirty again?" She asked as she lay down next to him, stretching herself out rather casually as her tail flicked in the water.

Milovan followed the prompting back to where his moss was without acknowledging her aid. Once back on the familiar-ish ground, he rinsed his hands in the water once more then shook them as dry as he could. It wasn't as dry as he would have liked, but there was little else he could do about it just now; the rest of him was just as wet. He turned back to collect some of the moss and moved to Rei's side, moving carefully upright on his hind legs. He balanced himself be outstretching one hand and gently touching her side from time to time until he came to the gash.
He had to lean in very close to inspect it fully, but at least the time in the water seemed to have cleaned it out. Only when he was pleased with the level of cleanliness-- it was still oozing blood slightly, which was worrisome-- did he bother to answer her. Even as he did, his hands were busy, carefully lying strips of the moss along the first wound.
"This will staunch the bleeding," he answered quietly. "You're in danger of serious blood loss." That said, he was fairly certain she was already in the danger range of blood loss, but there wasn't anything he could do about that just yet. He would need to find something for her to eat, and with his poor hunting skills it would have to be something slow, old, or, more likely, plants.

The fact that Rei kept randomly wiggling and giggling whenever he touched her side likely didn't help with what he was trying to do, however, other than that she did remain in basically the same spot... It was kind of amazing she didn't even seem to notice any of the pain, and possibly worrying. Who knows what kind of injuries she might've received that just weren't outwardly visible? It was a worrying thought, but not one that Rei currently had. She was thinking more about where to go next.
"Pssh blood loss is nothing. Once I broke all my ribs at once!" she sounded... Proud about that. "Then Casimir told me that I couldn't fly yet..." she pouted a little bit as her tail flicked more agitatedly, the triple spikes mostly hidden in the end clacking against a rock.

"Well, if you broke all of your ribs," Milovan pointed out logically as he found another deep gash. "You wouldn't be able to fly at all. They wouldn't support your frame and you'd probably puncture your lung and die. Perhaps your father wanted to prevent that." He didn't point out that ribs didn't constitute as blood loss, unless there was internal bleeding, nor did he ask in exasperation how she had survived this long. She didn't need a sidekick; she needed a bloody keeper.
He finished his work and regarded it closely and critically. It wasn't the best, but it was the best he could do right now. . . at least, without trying to heal. He shivered at that thought and pushed it away.
"You need to stay as still as you can for a little while," Milovan said, hoping it wasn't a hopeless proposition. "So that the moss can help the blood clot up."

She giggled when he found the other wound, as if it tickled... When he talked about ribs puncturing lungs and stuff she just kind of shrugged. "Weeelll... They broke /after/ I tried to fly! I guess I shoulda asked him first..." She sniffled a little bit then sneezed, a quick breeze made her damp fur feel rather chilly all of the sudden. Luckily hers was very short, unlike Milovans.
"Stay still? But we need to go get food! and start a camp fire, and build a fort!" She said as she listed out the things that were obviously neccesary in order to spend the night out in chaos hills. And by the way she was wriggling, it was pretty obvious she wanted to jump up and do all three of those things at once.
